UD's Marks of Excellence
University of Delaware's Seven Colleges

The University of Delaware is rich in heritage and innovation. Founded as a small private academy in 1743, its first class included three students who would go on to become signers of the Declaration of Independence. Today, UD is a technological leader and the largest university in the state, with an annual enrollment of more than 20,000.

UD has seven colleges, and each is leading significant research programs involving internationally known scientists, authors, and teachers. Please visit each of our colleges using the Web links at right.

UD Marks of Excellence

Erected by the citizens of Delaware as the state's memorial of World War I, Memorial Hall (center) served as UD's library from 1924–63. The signature building, which underwent a major renovation in 1999, is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
