PBL 2012 to be held in Cali, Colombia
| Cali, Colombia will be the site for the seventh annual PBL International Conference on July 4-6, 2012. Problem-Based Learning is an important educational movement that stresses the central role of students in the learning experience. Confronted with significant and challenging problems, students are motivated to develop their knowledge base and apply it in a rich interdisciplinary context. The conference will provide an introduction to PBL for new participants and an opportunity to expand their knowledge of this powerful pedagogy for those who are already using PBL in their classrooms. Special strands in the conference will be dedicated to the use of PBL in engineering and health sciences. |  |

Cali is the heart of the beautiful Valle del Cauca, a rich agricultural region nestled in the Andean mountains. Universidad Autonoma de Occidente and Pontificia Universidad de Javeriana are serving as joint hosts for the conference. Each campus boasts modern facilities with the latest in technological systems, including state-of-the-art simulation laboratories and digital studios. The campuses are aesthetically pleasing with open spaces for conversation and reflection, surrounded by rich tropical gardens.
