Dear UD Community,
At the University of Delaware, each of us comes from a unique background, brings distinctive skills and pursues our own remarkable goals. We are here to make an impact on the future by learning, teaching, exploring and serving, and what makes our institution great is the way our paths intersect, overlap, blend together — even weave into our 279-year history — to form the vibrant “fabric” of our institution.
That is why the theme of the President’s Report 2022 is Connecting Our Purpose — a recognition of you and your countless accomplishments over the past year. In compiling this year’s report, I was inspired by the passion of our students to change the world as leaders and innovators … by the determination of our faculty members to create new knowledge, share their insights and advance our students’ lifelong success … and by the dedication of our staff to enable the essential work of the University. I invite you to explore the new report, which is fully online, and share my pride in the University’s resilience, progress and character.
I also hope you will take a moment to read UD’s new strategic plan, Forward and Forever, which has been developed over the past year by faculty, staff, students, Trustees and other members of our community as we chart a bold course for our future together. This is a “living document” that will be continually reviewed and updated to reflect emerging challenges and opportunities, and I look forward to our work together as we continue to transform this vision into reality.
You continue to demonstrate a deep commitment to fulfilling the mission of the University of Delaware and strengthening our vibrant network of scholarship, discovery and service to others. The past two years have been especially challenging, but I could not be prouder of your dedication, resolve and teamwork in the face of tremendous obstacles. What’s more, you have made sure that UD continues to thrive and grow. I want to express my sincerest gratitude for everything you do for UD.
My wife, Eleni, and I hope you and your families are healthy and well, and I look forward to seeing you on campus soon.
Sincerely,
|
