Dear Class of 2024,

Activities for Commencement 2024 are planned for May 21-25. Regalia is required to participate in Commencement ceremonies, and here are the details on how to get your regalia.

Associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates

The B&N UD Bookstore is the only approved vendor for the University of Delaware Commencement items, including official University regalia (caps, gowns, hoods and tassels) from Oak Hall. This exclusively ensures that regalia worn at graduation will be uniform and is required.

Degree candidates (associate, bachelor’s and master’s) planning to attend Commencement and Convocation need to order their regalia no later than Monday, April 8, 2024. Place your order for regalia. Regalia pick up will begin on Wednesday, April 10, during regular business hours.

If you are looking to buy separate pieces (just a tassel, hood, gown or cap), you can do so by coming to the Bookstore starting on Wednesday, April 10. 

Renting associate, bachelor’s and master’s regalia is not an option. All regalia for associate, bachelor’s or master’s degrees is keeper regalia.

All UD seniors are encouraged to attend the Life After UD resource fair, scheduled on Wednesday, April 10 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, April 11 from 12-3 p.m. and Friday, April 12, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on the second floor of the B&N UD Bookstore to pick up your regalia. The three-day event will help graduates learn about the resources available to them as they transition from students to alumni, and all attendees will leave with special giveaways. Grad Images and Balfour Rings will be in store.

If you are not local and need your regalia shipped, please place your order online (as stated above) and call 302-831-2424, starting April 15. Shipping is an additional $7.99. Oak Hall does not ship regalia; all regalia is shipped to the store. Please do not contact us for shipping needs prior to April 15.

Degree candidates who participated in a Study Abroad Program are invited to wear a special sash signifying the program(s) in which they have participated. You can order online or purchase in-store.

The University of Delaware does not participate in the distribution of Latin Honor cords.

Doctoral Candidates

To participate in the Hooding Ceremony, doctoral candidates must rent their cap, gown and hood. Doctoral regalia can be rented online. Rental regalia orders must be placed by April 10, 2024. Pick-up for Ph.D. rental regalia will begin on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. These must be returned no later than Saturday, June 1, 2024, to the B&N UD Bookstore. If you would like to purchase custom (keeper) regalia, orders are due NO LATER than March 18, 2024. Place your order for custom (keeper) regalia.
