   Your Serf name is XXXXX and your password is X characters long (I can't see what it is, just how long).  If you can't remember the password, give Karen Kral a call at 831-1980 and she can reset it.

   Remember to access the location
        http://udserf.udel.edu
from your browser program (note "udserf" instead of "serf").

   Note that the course on which you are working is written above the Control Panel (the table of options at the bottom of the page).  If you want to work on a different course for which you are registered, under the System column of the Control Panel, click the Switch Courses option.  On the next page click the link to the course you want.

To activate your account (cash in your ticket):
     1.  Use a browser program (e.g., Netscape) to access
                http://udserf.udel.edu
     2.  Click the Ticket icon in the upper right corner.
     3.  In the appropriate boxes, type your first and last names.
     4.  In the Ticket box, type your social security number, excluding
         the hyphens.
     5.  Click the Submit button.
     6.  On the next screen type a Serf name (you'll use this to log on
         to udserf in subsequent sessions) and a password (the same one
         in two boxes to make sure you remember it).
     7.  Click Create.

To log on to udserf using after you cash your ticket:
     1.  Use a browser program (e.g., Netscape) to access
                http://udserf.udel.edu
     2.  Type the Serf name and password you set when you activated your
         account.
     3.  Click the Logon button.
     4.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page and check the note on the
         top of the Control Panel (table of options at the bottom of the
         screen).  If you want to work on a different course for which
         you are registered, under the System column of the Control
         Panel, click the Switch Courses option.  On the next page,
         click the link to the course you want.

To log off:
     1.  On the Control Panel at the bottom of the screen, under the
         System column, click Logoff.
     2.  Close the browser.

For instructors:
To request a roster for a Serf course:
    1. From the Web on the UD home page, click Faculty.
    2. Select Teaching.
    3. Select Course Logistics.
    4. Under Rosters, select Request a class roster.
    5. Type your SSN, PIN, click the Submit button.
    6. Fill in term code, sections of the course.
    7. Send roster to: karenk@udel.edu
    8. Click the Submit button.
    9. Click the Exit button on each page until you return to the UD home page.

For instructors to add students:
1.  On the Control Panel, under the Administrative column, select Add to Roster.
2.  In the appropriate boxes, type your first and last names of the student.
3.  In the Ticket box, type the student's social security number, excluding the hyphens.

Message:
If the student already has a UDSerf ticket and Serf name:
	The student named LAST NAME, FIRST NAME--"SERF NAME",
	who owns the ticket TICKET,
	has been added to roster #: COURSE roster.

If the student already has a UDSerf ticket that hasn't been cashed:
	The student named LAST NAME, FIRST NAME,
	who owns the ticket TICKET,
	has been added to roster #: COURSE roster.


If the student doesn't have a UDSerf ticket:
	The student named LAST NAME, FIRST NAME
	has been added to roster #: COURSE roster.

	This student did not yet have a logon ticket, so Serf created one.
