Arithmetic expressions can be used in the select list of a SELECT statement.

• Column (+-*/) Column

  • eg. Unit_cost * items_sold

• Constant (+-*/) Column

  • eg. Unit_cost * 1.1

• Constant

• Functions

  • eg. Avg(sales)
