Flying Fortress

Unit 8-3 Flying Fortress

After completing this unit, you will be able to:

Reading

The second button on the History of Flight menu pictures the Boeing-17G “Flying Fortress,” one of the most famous World War II aircraft. Read chapter 28 of the Multimedia Literacy textbook to create multimedia screens describing World War II aircraft and link them to the Flying Fortress button on the History of Flight home screen.

Online Activities

This chapter is very similar to the one you just completed. In fact, all four of the historical aircraft chapters in this course have the same design. The goal is to make you so familiar with the process of linking buttons to multimedia materials that you can do it without referring to the instructions. Accordingly, each chapter will provide less hand-holding than the previous chapter until you can make these linkages without looking in the book. Then, you will be ready to create original multimedia applications on your own.

Resources used in this unit from the Multilit CD include:

Assignment

There is no specific assignment required in this unit, which is part of the History of Flight tutorial. The purpose of this tutorial is to step you through the process of creating a multimedia application based on a picture menu that provides the user with navigational options that appear onscreen within the context of a consistent user interface. Due to the progressive nature of the History of Flight tutorial, there are no end-of-chapter exercises. You do not need to hand in the History of Flight application unless your instructor has told you specifically to do so. You are nevertheless encouraged to complete this tutorial, which will provide you with valuable experience and knowledge that can inform the design and creation of your own multimedia application that you must submit to your instructor toward the end of the course.
