Macaroni and Cheese

Macaroni and Cheese is a very popular dinner-time food in the U.S. There are two types: homemade baked Macaroni and Cheese and boxed Macaroni and Cheese. Baked Macaroni and Cheese is very popular at holiday dinners. It is cooked macaroni mixed with a variety of cheese topped with buttered breadcrumbs and cooked until bubbly and hot. The box Macaroni and Cheese is made more often and is popular with small children. Macaroni noodles are boiled and a cheese sauce is mixed in and then eaten.

Hot Dogs

Hot dogs are a simply cooked meal eaten very often in the U.S. They are made from beef, pork, turkey and/or chicken parts. They are served on a special long, thin roll with mustard, ketchup, onions, relish or sauerkraut. They are very popular in the summer, cooked on the grill at home or at picnics. They are also served at all sports stadiums and parks. They are also sold from street vendors in cities and large shopping areas.

Apple Pie

Apple Pie is one of the most popular desserts in America. It is served most often in the Fall when apples are in season (when apples are harvested the most). The pie is made from a large number of cut apples in a sauce between two flaky layers of crust. Apple Pie is made for special occasions and is usually served at Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. We can buy very good frozen apple pie in our grocery stores as well.
