Undergraduate/Graduate Committee by November in order to reach the Faculty Senate

a. Rationale for creation, revision, or
deletion:
1.
The Breadth Requirement of a second
writing course outside of the department is being eliminated for the Health and
Physical Education major. It has been difficult for students to gain enrollment
in such a course due to the limited number of courses offered. The HPE program
requires the students to do a great deal of writing that is appropriate for
their professional development in several of the required courses within the
department. This will reduce the number of credits required for the major from
125 to 122.
2.
There
is also a revision in the organization of the Breadth Requirements for the
major to eliminate confusion with the Breadth Requirements in the

There are no changes in the
required courses for the major, other than in the Breadth Requirements, as
described above. The new Breadth Requirements for the major are presented
