List program changes for
curriculum revisions:
Delete MEEG441 from courses allowed for concentration;
add MEEG419, 616, 636 and 655.
List new courses required for
the new or revised curriculum:
(Be aware that approval
of the curriculum is dependent upon these courses successfully passing through
the Course Challenge list. If there are no new courses enter “None”)
Currently in course challenge
process:
MEEG419 – Mech. Behavior of Materials and Structures
Other affected units:
(List other departments affected by this new or revised
curriculum. Attach permission from the
affected units. If no other unit is
affected, enter “None”)
None.
Rationale:
(Explain your reasons for creating, revising, or deleting the
curriculum or program.)
MEEG441, Combustion, is in the course approval cycle to
be removed (the faculty teaching that course has left UD and the course is not
going to be taught by the current faculty in the Dept.), and – if removed from
the catalog, should not appear in the Concentration.
The other ME courses: MEEG419, MEEG616, MEEG636, MEEG655, have been approved by the faculty as having
sufficient aerospace coverage to be appropriate for the Concentration and have
always had a significant number of undergraduates taking the courses.
Therefore, we wish to formally add them to the catalog as acceptable for the
Concentration.
Program Requirements:
(Show the new or revised curriculum as it should appear in the
Course Catalog. If this is a revision,
be sure to indicate the changes being made to the present curriculum.)
Suggested wording:
The requested additions are in red text below;
strikeout is requested deletion:
Advanced courses in Aerospace
Engineering
Three of the following three-credit courses must also
be taken*

Mechanics for Mechanical
and Aerospace Engineering.................................................... 3
