I have no reason to think that there would be any hardship to the School of Education if IFST makes EDUC 823 a non-required course for your doctoral students. Of course, we would miss your students, but the course would still make as regularly as it now does.

When we revised our Ph.D. program several years ago we required students to take EDUC 823 Learning and Development. Since then we have developed our own 800 level course IFST 803 Human Development in Life Span Perspective. We would like to drop EDUC 823 as a required course. We plan to encourage students to take the course but would rather not require it. To make this change I need a letter (or e-mail) from you stating that there would be no hardship to the School of Education if we make this change. Provided, of course, that you do not feel this would be a hardship. Thanks (and thanks for the feedback you gave Martha). Penny
