a. Rationale
for creation, revision, or deletion:
Foundation studio art courses are taken in the freshman year. The Foundation Colloquium is taken both semesters of the freshman year. Art concentration, art studies, and art electives are taken in the sophomore through senior years.
Art 315 has been taken after
completion of 62 credits and has been applied toward both the art major
requirement and a breadth requirement.
The course has not fulfilled the goals for which it was designed. Department faculty feel that student needs
are better met by taking three additional hours of Studio Art credit and three
additional hours of Art History.
