The seminar series and journal club provide opportunities for students and faculty to learn about the latest research trends in organic chemistry.  

The division hosts leaders in the field visit the department, have lunch with students and present a seminar.  This is an outstanding opportunity for students and faculty to meet leading organic chemists from around the world.  A student invited speaker is selected selected by and hosted by the students.  A highlight of the year is the annual Heck Symposium honoring our colleague and 2010 Nobel Laureate Richard Heck. 

The student run journal club brings faculty and students together to review review and discuss specific topics of interest.  For one hour, students have the opportunity to hone their presentation skills, stay up to date on current literature and discuss important topics in organic chemistry.
