Welcome to the Naik Lab!
Our major research interest is the investigation of signal transduction involved in cardiovascular disease and cancer. Cell-cell interactions and cell-extracellular matrix interactions play key roles in these diseases. Our work aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of these interactions under physiological and pathophysiological conditions. Specifically, our lab studies the functional roles of Calcium-and Integrin-Binding (CIB) proteins in cardiovascular disease and Junctional Adhesion Molecules (JAM) in cancer and metastasis.
