This unit, Journaling from the Kindergarten Heart will focus on teaching kindergarten students how to journal. I want my students to be able to learn what a journal is, the function of a journal, and how to journal effectively. The students will make a “Heart Map” and this will help the students understand what is important to them and give them ideas for their journal writing. Through a series of activities the class will focus on how feelings can help us come up with writing ideas.
