Jon Stewart to perform at The Bob Dec. 1
11:59 a.m., Nov. 2, 2007--Jon Stewart, stand-up comedian and host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, will perform at 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Bob Carpenter Center.

Stewart, co-writer, producer and host of the fake news show, has received Peabody, Grammy and Emmy Awards as its author, actor and anchor. He hosted the 2006 Academy Awards and is slated to host again in 2008.

He started his career as a stand-up comedian, but branched out to television hosting Short Attention Span Theater for Comedy Central then for MTV, The Jon Stewart Show and You Wrote it, You Watch it.

Stewart is known as an outspoken critic of politicians, especially the Bush administration, and of personality-driven media shows like The O'Reilly Factor with Bill O'Reilly on the Fox News cable TV channel.

Tickets go on sale at campus box offices for those with UD IDs (limited to two tickets per ID) on Thursday, Nov. 8, and are $30 for full-time students and $65 for part-time students, staff and faculty. Be sure to follow the special rules that have been set for ticket purchases on campus.

Remaining tickets will be available to the general public starting Monday, Nov. 12, at UD box offices and at [www.ticketmaster.com], where a convenience fee may apply.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the performance begins at 8:30 p.m., Dec. 1.
