9:53 a.m., June 26, 2008--There's still time to sign up for memberships for the UD Outdoor Pool's summer season, which is now in full swing. Registrations are being accepted from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, at the Fred Rust Ice Arena.

New pool members can register online at [www.udel.edu/outdoorpool].

The UD Outdoor Pool, the largest in the state, is located behind the Gold Ice Arena. Amenities include slides, fenced-in baby pool, eating area on the pool deck and a heater that takes the chill off early season swimming.

Swim lessons are available for members only and individuals also can become a member of the Delaware Bluefish swim team.

The pool hosts special events throughout the season, including late night family swims when the pool stays open until 10 p.m. Special events also include a July 4th party, pool appreciation day and Labor Day party.

University employees can pay their pool membership fees through payroll deduction. Current and new members should contact Jim Kaden at (302) 831-6038.
