’Pied Piper’ on Mitchell Hall stage Feb. 3
4:30 p.m., Jan. 18, 2008--Tales & Scales, the nationally acclaimed music, dance and storytelling troupe, will perform an updated version of the traditional and well-loved children's tale, The Pied Piper, at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3, in the theatre of Mitchell Hall.

Based on the original German legend by the Brothers Grimm and the English translation by the 19th-century British poet, Robert Browning, the Tales & Scales performance will include live contemporary music by a quartet of wind and horn musicians, as well as modern dance moves choreographed to give a fresh sping to the old story about generosity and honesty.

The show, recommended for children 5 and older, will be preceded by a specially priced luncheon for kids and their families at the Blue & Gold Club. Both venues are handicapped accessible.

Seating is reserved for the hour-long show, and tickets cost $12 for the general public, $10 for seniors, UD employees and UD alumni and $5 for children. Tickets may be purchased by visiting the University of Delaware ticket offices between noon and 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, or calling (302) 831-2204. Tickets also may be purchased through Ticketmaster (where a service fee may apply) at (302) 984-2000 or online at [www.ticketmaster.com].
