Delaware’s Omar Cuff third team All-American

UD All-American Omar Cuff
9:27 a.m., Dec. 13, 2005--University of Delaware sophomore running back Omar Cuff has been named a Sports Network NCAA Division I-AA third team All-American.

Cuff had an outstanding season for the 6-5 Fightin’ Blue Hens, carrying the ball 249 times for 1,205 yards and 14 touchdowns. He averaged 109.5 yard per game rushing, and also caught a team-high 41 passes for 414 yards and four touchdowns.

Cuff rushed for 236 yards in a 34-28 victory over James Madison University on Oct. 22 at Tubby Raymond Field at Delaware Stadium. That was the second highest single game total in UD history.

Earlier, Cuff was named first team All-Atlantic 10 Conference. He also was a top 10 finalist for the Walter Payton Award, presented annually to the best offensive player in NCAA Division I-AA.
