9:37 a.m., April 28, 2006--Newark Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at 1:42 p.m., Thursday, April 27, at the WSFS bank branch in the College Square Shopping Center.

Police said a suspect in his late teens or early 20s entered the bank, approached a teller and presented a demand note. The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled on foot in the direction of the Pathmark and the Newark Free Library.

Police said the suspect was about 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet, 1 inch tall and of thin build. He was wearing a tan desert camouflage bucket-style hat with floppy brim, a baggy black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, baggy dark-colored pants and white sneakers.

Anyone with information should contact the Newark Police at (302) 366-7110, ext. 132, or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
