Institutional Repository available

11:47 a.m., Dec. 6, 2004--The University of Delaware Library Institutional Repository, which has been created to house the digitized research of UD faculty, became available today after a semester-long pilot program involving five academic areas or “communities” --the Composite Materials Center, the Department of Food and Resource Economics, the Disaster Research Center, the Institute for Public Administration and the Sea Grant Program in the College of Marine Studies.

Using open source DSpace software, the Institutional Repository web site and the UD collections involved in the pilot are available at [http://dspace.udel.edu].

The Institutional Repository includes UD original research in digital form, including technical reports, working papers, conference papers and other material. The Institutional Repository contains only digital research products for which the copyright is owned by the author or the University.

Designed to make participation easy, the Institutional Repository can be used by other UD “communities”--departments, schools, labs and centers--to create any number of collections within the Institutional Repository.

Faculty and staff are invited to consider placing their research in the Institutional Research Repository. For further information about participation, visit the web site at [http://dspace.udel.edu] and click on “DSpace Policies”.

In addition, flyers with information have been sent to all faculty. The flyer also can be accessed at [http://dspace.udel.edu/AboutDSpace.html].
