Discounts offered on Harlem Globetotters tickets

3:18 p.m., Jan. 31, 2005--Comcast-Spectacor is offering $5 discounts to members of the UD community on selected seating when the high-flying Harlem Globetrotters visit the Bob Carpenter Center at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 8.

The discounts apply to tickets costing $14.50, $20.50 and $27.50, but do not apply to magic circle or VIP seats. Discounts are limited to one-per-UD ID. IDs must be presented when purchasing tickets.

Tickets can be purchased on campus at the Bob Carpenter Center box office from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturdays, and at the Trabant University Center box office from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

The hardwood hi-jinks of the Harlem Globetrotters have been thrilling basketball fans since their first-ever road game on Jan. 7, 1927, in Hinckley, Ill. The team played its 20,000th game in 1998, a feat unmatched by any other professional sports team anywhere. During the team’s 78-year history they have played before 120 million fans in 117 countries.

More than 25 talented basketball players are on the roster of the Harlem Globetrotters, including Anthony Bates, Kris Bruton, Kevin Daley, Eugene Edgerson, Paul Gaffney and Anthony Greenup. The Globetrotters coaching staff includes Rod Baker, Lou Dunbar and Charles Harrison.
