Cross countrys Meany most valuable athlete
Sophomores Tyler Mayforth and Jeremy Lambert were named the teams most improved athletes, and freshman Kyle Schmid was named the most outstanding rookie. In addition, Kevin DuPrey, Peter Kane, Lambert and Meany have been named co-captains for the 2005 season. Meany was a dominant runner throughout the 2004 season and was the top UD finisher in six of the team's seven meets. He won championships at the Towson Invitational and the first Delaware Invitational during the first two weeks of the season. He finished 23rd at the Colonial Athletic Association championship meet. Mayforth had the team's top finish at the CAA championship meet, crossing the line in 22nd place. He also finished sixth at the second Delaware Invitational. Lambert finished 12th at the second Delaware Invitational, and Schmid had two top 10 finishes during his freshman campaign, placing seventh at the first Delaware Invitational and ninth at the Towson Invitational. DuPrey, a three-year letter winner, finished 35th at the CAA championships, and Kane, a two-year letter winner, finished 28th at the CAA meet. To learn how to subscribe to UDaily, click here. |
