3:30 p.m., May 15, 2003--Seven UD alumni were inducted into the Alumni Wall of Fame on Friday, May 9, in Bayard Sharp Hall.
The award honors members of the University of Delaware Alumni Association from around the nation and the world who have distinguished themselves in professional and community endeavors. The Alumni Wall of Fame is located in the Alumni Room of the Perkins Student Center.

| T. Elbert Chance |
T. Elbert Chance 52, 59M AS, is familiar to generations of Blue Hen football fans as the public address announcer at UD home games from 1953 until his retirement last year. Inducted into the UD Athletic Hall of fame in 2001, Chance served as director of alumni relations from 1956-85. Chance also has received numerous awards for contributions to the Delaware music community.

| Allan R. Ferguson |
Allan R. Ferguson, 65EG, is managing director of 3i Technology Partners, an international venture capital group specializing in high-technology business. Ferguson serves on the College of Engineering Capital Campaign Steering Committee and is a volunteer with the College of Engineering Alumni Association. Ferguson and his wife are tree farmers who have been recognized by the American Tree Farm System for their work in forest management.

| Rakesh K. Jain |
Rakesh K. Jain, 74M, 76 PhD EG, is the Andrew Werk Cook Professor of Tumor Biology at Harvard Medical School and the director of the Edwin L. Steele Laboratory in the radiation oncology department at Massachusetts General Hospital. A world leader in tumor pathophysiology, Jain is the author of more than 335 publications and four patents. He also has received many professional awards while serving on editorial boards and as an international consultant.

| Jacqueline Jones |
Jacqueline Jones, 70 AS, Truman Professor of American Civilizations and chair of the history department at Brandeis University, is a distinguished historian in the areas of African-American women, slavery and the American working class. Jones is a recipient of the prestigious MacArthur Award, the so-called genius award, given to highly gifted individuals who have made significant contributions in their field. Her book, Labor of Love, Labor of Sorrow, was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.

| Anthony A. Kossiakoff |
Anthony A. Kossiakoff, 72PhD AS, is Otho-Sprague Professor and chairperson of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Chicago. His research in areas such as protein crystallography and the understanding of metabolic regulations of the human growth hormone and alternate structures in Alzheimers has led the field of protein research.

| Stephen M. Mockbee |
Stephen M. Mockbee, 73 BE, is founder and president of Bancroft Construction Co., a construction management firm recognized for excellence in safety and construction. Recognized for his volunteer service with the Jefferson Award for American Public Service and the Apex Award from United Way, Mockbee also is a member of the
College of Business and Economics Visiting Committee.

| Ruth Arak Toor |
Ruth Arak Toor, 53 AS, a leader in school library and information service, has coauthored 11 publications and co-edited a monthly international journal for 22 years. She recently retired from the Chatham, N.J., school district. At UD, Toor has established an endowment supporting students and the English department.
