Wellness dollars-use them or lose them

2:30 p.m., April 1, 2003--There are many ways employees and retirees can use their Wellness dollars, including noontime lectures, individual counseling on nutrition and exercise, physical activity challenges, video rentals, health screenings and more.

However, Wellness dollars expire on June 30 and do not carry over from year to year, so now is the time to spend any remaining dollars. On July 1, each full-time employee and retiree will receive 50 Wellness dollars, and each part-time employee receiving benefits will receive 25 Wellness dollars to spend during the next fiscal year.

Employees who have Wellness dollars in the bank may want to attend one of the noontime lectures being offered this spring:

  • “Laugh for the Health of It,” April 3;
  • “Love the Skin You’re In,” April 9;
  • “Don’t Let Arthritis Get You Down,” April 16;
  • “Understanding Your Lab Test Results,” April 25; and
  • “Don’t Get Ticked Off: Lyme Disease and You,” May 9.

For locations and more information about these talks and other Wellness activities, or to register online for any of these programs, visit the Employee Wellness Center web site at [www.udel.edu/wellness/].

To check your Wellness dollar balance, contact the Office of Human Resources at 831-2171, or send e-mail to [ben-serv@udel.edu].
