2:30 p.m., April 18, 2003--Alumni and parents of University of Delaware students can now earn points on every dollar they spend towards mileage and merchandise each time they use their new MBNA America WorldPoints credit card.
Royalties from the credit card program also benefit the UD Alumni Association in its support of student scholarships, faculty and student programs. The Alumni Scholars Program Endowment, which provides merit-based scholarships to new students, has received $1.28 million over the last 10 years, and nearly $100,000 in Alumni Enrichment Awards have been provided to more than 100 current UD students.
While the WorldPoints credit card has no annual fee and the face of the card remains the same, current cardholders will need to open a new account to receive mileage and merchandise credits.
