Hens Lewing, Blood named All-CAA in womens soccer |

1:15 p.m., Nov. 11, 2002--Ginna Lewing earned first team honors and Caryn Blood was named to the second team when the Colonial Athletic Association announced the women's soccer all-conference teams and awards Thursday night, Nov. 7.
Lewing, a junior back, started all 19 games this season as the UD defense recorded a goals against average of just 1.13. Lewing also had two goals and one assist.
Blood, a junior forward, led UD in scoring with 20 points. Starting all 19 games, she also led Delaware in goals (seven) and assists (six). Four of her goals came against CAA competition. Since transferring from University of Miami (Fla.) prior to last season, Blood has 41 points (16 goals and 9 assists).
Joining Lewing on the first team were forwards Jen Parsons (VCU), Katy Robertson (George Mason) and Kim Argy (James Madison); midfielders Lindsey Vanderspicgel (William & Mary), Leah Robinson (VCU), Elaine O'Connor (Hofstra) and Tara Flint (William & Mary); backs Katy Swindells (James Madison) and Prue Cormie (VCU); and goalkeeper Naomi Hines (George Mason).
Joining Blood on the second team were fellow forwards Lydia Sturgis (William & Mary), Taline Tahmassian (William & Mary), midfielders Charity Schmitt (Hofstra), Beth McNamara (James Madison), Sandra Anger (VCU), and Franny Swajkowski (William & Mary); backs Dolores Deasley (Hofstra), Bryant Karpinski (James Madison), Sarah Marshall (UNC Wilmington); and goalkeeper Sarah Coughlin (George Mason).
Vanderspicgel was named CAA Player of the Year, while Cormie was honored as CAA Defensive Player of the Year and Argy as CAA Rookie of the Year.
Jac Cicala of George Mason and JoAnne Russell of Hofstra were honored as CAA Co-Coaches of the Year.
