Del'Arte Woodwind Quintet free concert set Nov. 25

3:55 p.m., Nov. 22, 2002--The UD Department of Music presents the Del’Arte Woodwind Quintet in a free concert at 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.

Featured on the program are “Serenade for Wind Quintet” by Julius Rontgen, “Quintet for Wind Instruments” by Alvin Etler, “Wind Quintet, op. 10” by Pavel Haas and “Sciarada Spagnuola” (Divertimento for Wind Quintet) by Jurriaan Andriessen.

As ensemble-in-residence at UD, the Del'Arte Quintet performs wind chamber music from the 18th century to the present. Del'Arte ensemble members are all individually active as recitalists and members of other performing ensembles, and maintain teaching studios at the University. Members of the quintet are Eileen Grycky, flute; Lloyd Shorter, oboe; Charles Salinger, clarinet; Jon Gaarder, bassoon; and Cynthia Carr, horn.
