Title:   The Era of Personalised Healthcare: Designing Clinical Studies with Biomarkers Graph


Dr. Emeribe will present an overview of the importance of biomarkers in targeted drug development. She will review some clinical study designs, sample size calculations, and methods of validating biomarkers. The role of surrogate biomarkers in targeted drug development will also be reviewed. Her presentation will conclude with some examples of practical application of biomarkers in drug development.


Dr. Emeribe is a Principal Biostatistician at AstraZeneca. She received her PhD degree from the University of Reading in the UK, and has worked at AstraZeneca for the past 13 years. She provides statistical expertise to design and interpretation of data in all phases of drug development in both Neuroscience and Oncology therapeutic areas. She contributed to life cycle management of several drugs including Zomig, Driprivan, Arimidex, Faslodex, Zoladex, and Casodex. She has also been involved in clinical development of a stroke compound. At present, she contributes to the evaluation of Oncology compounds and provides leadership for Clinical Information Standards governance.

  • Durango Chicken Sandwich $10.00: Breast of chicken, our Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, melted cheese, tomatoes, and a pile of thick bacon on a brioche roll. Of course we plate it up with our tasty, golden fries.

  • Salmon Cake $10.00: Eight ounces of fresh Atlantic salmon cake, full of Omega 3, spring greens, thinly sliced red onions and tomato, on a brioche roll with a side of bayou mayo.

  • The Newark Harvest $11.00: A mix of young Mesclun field greens, local Milburn Orchard apples, brandied cranberries, blue cheese crumbles and healthy walnuts in a light raspberry vinaigrette. Add chicken, grilled shrimp or a 6 oz salmon filet for $5.00

  • Jumbo Lump Crab cake: $13.00 : Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, NO Fillers, pan-seared until golden brown Served with a Creole-style mustard sauce.
