Jack Schuenemeyer Retired, Professor of Statistics University of Delaware | |
Topic: | Farwell Address |
Abstract:
Jack along with Bill Williford and possibly Ron Snee were the original founders of our DE Chapter. Jack has been one of the most proactive contributing members to our Chapter over the years. He proposed the start of our very successful spring symposium series and worked on several of its committees, initiated the Presidential election polling involving DE schools, proposed and did the brunt of the work in starting and managing the Arthur E. Hoerl Award, prepared a long-term strategic plan for our chapter, arranged for many of our after-dinner speakers, presented many after-dinner talks himself, organized the DE chapter booth at the Math Fair held at the Christiana Mall a few years ago, and engaged in many other activities beneficial to our Chapter.
Jack will review the history of our Chapter, reflect on his own professional career, and suggest some things our Chapter needs to consider for the future.
