UD Online / Distance Learning

UD Online courses follow the regular UD campus academic calendar and are available at any time and place with Internet access. UD Online courses are taught by UD faculty and there is no distinction on your transcript between online and on-campus courses. Most of the courses have proctored exams, which you can take at a UD testing site in Newark, Dover or Georgetown, DE or using Proctor U. Proctor U requires that you have a web camera and a headset with microphone (some classes use additional tools). Proctor U charges fee for each exam and is used for out of state students who are enrolled in the sections for out of state students. More information is available at www.pcs.udel.edu/udonline. or by emailing udonline-exams@udel.edu.

Success in an online class requires that you be self-disciplined, well organized and have good time management skills. Classes are taught in either Sakai or Canvas and you must have a Udelnet ID username and password to access your course. If you don't have a UDemail account, go to www.udel.edu/welcome and set it up after you have registered. If you don't have an ID or PIN, see the registration information on this website.

Please note that there is a different tuition rate for online courses taken by out of state students and enrollment is restricted. You need to register for those online courses through the ACCESS Center (call 302-831-8843 or email access-advise@udel.edu) or use these online and printable registration forms.

Two Course Search tools include online classes. Using the standard Course search, select "UD Online (SA-Virtual)" as "Course Location." to see all online offerings. On this Winter website use the "Enhanced" Search for Winter Courses and click the criterion selector for "Distance Learning Only."
