President's Council


Membership: Membership of the President's Council shall consist of the following:

Meetings of the Council shall be open to the public. From time to time, specific members of the University Community may be invited to address the Council on pertinent matters or to serve as resource persons.

Members shall serve on the Council for one year beginning July 1 and ending June 30 of the following year. If a member cannot attend a meeting, the Assistant to the President should be notified prior to the meeting. Members unable to attend a meeting are encouraged to name a substitute. The Assistant to the President should be given the name of the substitute in advance of the meeting.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the members of the President's Council shall include the following:

  1. To advise the President of the University on any subject which may be brought before the Council, either by the President or by a member of the Council.
  2. To advise on the policy for the use of University of Delaware facilities.
  3. To review and advise on the general operating budget of the University.
  4. To review and make recommendations on educational programs for the University.
  5. To review and make recommendations on the academic calendar of the University.
  6. To discuss and advise on critical campus issues.

Meeting Schedule: The President's Council shall meet at a time and place called by the President. The Council shall meet monthly, normally on the first Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m.

Conduct of Council Meetings: The President of the University or his or her designee shall serve as the Chair of the Council. Agendas will be sent to members before the meetings. Any member of the Council may suggest topics of concern to be placed on the agenda.
