The Academic Council's purpose is to advise the Provost on broad academic problems that transcend the departments and colleges.
Membership of the Academic Council consists of the members of the Council of Deans plus the Assistant Vice President for Minority Affairs, the University Registrar, the Dean of Students, the Associate Provost for Admissions and Financial Aid, the Director of University Honors, the Director of Institutional Research, the Director of the Academic Advancement Office, the Athletics Director, the Supervisor of the University Awareness Program, and the Assistant Dean of the University Parallel Program.
