Debra He ernan, AS83, of Wilmington, Del., was elected state representative for House District 6 in Delaware.
Tom Frey, EG84, 90M, of Wilmington, Del., was appointed chief engineer of the space rocket motor product lane at Orbital ATK in Elkton, Md.
Kenneth Horwitz, AS84, of Cedar Grove, N.J., presented research
at the International Congress of Math Education at the University of Hamburg, Germany. Horwitz teaches math at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Tom Montgomery, BE84, of Chadds Ford, Pa., was elected senior vice president and comptroller of Ametek Inc.,
in Berwyn, Pa. Ametek is a manufacturing company with 150 locations worldwide.
Daniel C. Schlotterbeck, BE85, of Bloomingdale, N.J., has been named president of Kinedyne LLC, in Branchburg, N.J. Schlotterbeck also completed a graduate certi cate program in intellectual property law from Seton Hall School Law in 2016.

Danville, Cal., has joined Claroty, an innovator in operational technology network protection, as board chairman.
Luca Maurer, AS86, of Ithaca, N.Y., received the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists’ 2016 Book Award for a book he co-wrote, entitled The Teaching Transgender Toolkit:
A Facilitator’s Guide to Increasing Knowledge, Decreasing Prejudice and Building Skills. Maurer is the LGBT Education, Outreach and Services Program director at Ithaca College.
John Carney, AS87M, of Wilmington, Del., was elected governor of Delaware. Carney
also has served as Delaware’s U.S. representative, lieutenant governor and secretary of  nance.
Greg Christodulu, EHD87, of Clifton Park, N.Y., was named 2016 New York State Baseball Coach of the Year and American Baseball Coaches Association Region 1 high school Coach of the Year after his team, the Shenendehowa High School Plainsmen, won the Class AA State Championship.
Je  Die enbach, EG87, of Cambridge, Mass., was named associate director of the MIT Integrated Learning Initiative. He’ll be leading MITili in its mission to support, promote and disseminate research on learning e ectiveness.

Glen Arm, Md., was selected as a 2016 SmartCEO Centers of In uence Awards  nalist for the greater Baltimore region for his commitment to legal clients.
Tania Bernath, AS88, of Jamestown, R.I., co-authored a book called Becoming an International Humanitarian Aid Worker.

Udit Batra, EG91, of Billerica, Mass., won CEO of the Year award from CPhI Pharma for his commitment to advancing life science innovation worldwide. Batra is CEO of MilliporeSigma.
Jon Buzby, HS89, 91M, of Bear, Del., has published a book on parenting called Not an Expert, Just a Dad ... In this Crazy Game Called Life. Buzby is a sportswriter for the Newark Post and adjunct professor in UD’s Department of Communication.

Kathryn Kneessi Perrone, BE91, of Mashpee, Mass., writing as Kathryn Knight, has published her fourth novel, Haunting Souls.
Jennifer Toscano-Goetz, AS92, of Garnet Valley, Pa., has had the company she owns, Worldwide Incorporators LTD, named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies.
Heather Karasow Smith, AS92, of Lenni, Pa., was appointed director
of major giving in Pennsylvania for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
Dr. Christopher Doty, AS93, of Lexington, Ky., received the Joe Lex Educator of the Year Award from the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. Doty is vice chair and residency director in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Kentucky.
SeanP.Lugg,AS93,ofWilmington, Del., was named state prosecutor for Delaware, overseeing all criminal prosecutions and supervising a sta  of more than 250.
Leigh Himes, AS94, of Havertown, Pa., has published her  rst novel, The One That Got Away, about a young working mother who gets the chance to live the life she always wanted.
Gregory J. Sawka, BE94, and Karen M. Sawka, EG90, 94M, of Newark, Del., were appointed co- chairs of the Delaware Diamonds Society, the University’s annual giving society.
Robin Blair, BE95, of Philadelphia, Pa., is now a human factors and ergonomics specialist for Herman Miller in the Philadelphia region.
Scott W. Briggs, AS95, of Medford Lakes, N.J., was promoted to senior strategic adviser and practice leader of the Healthcare Advisory Team-Enterprise Managed Services Division at Canon Solutions America in New York City.
Mark Tagliareni, AS95, of North Haledon, N.J, was promoted to sergeant in the Wycko  Township (N.J.) Police Department.
Rob Redwinski, EG97, of Elkridge, Md., just published a book based on his undergraduate years at UD entitled, Delaware Blues.
John “Jack” M. Beeson Jr., BE98M, of Wilmington, Del., was named chair of the YMCA Board of Directors for Delaware. Beeson is senior vice president for Global Capital Markets at Wilmington Trust Co.
