'Get Your Green On'
University to host 'Get Your Green On' St. Patrick's events
12:55 p.m., March 14, 2016--The University of Delaware has announced a series of “Get Your Green On” events for students through the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
Activities will open on St. Patrick’s Day with a dance party schedule from 8 p.m. to midnight, Thursday, March 17, in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center.

The dance party will feature a DJ, decorated chill out spaces and free food and drink.
There will be a St. Patrick’s-theme costume competition, with large prizes at stake, as well as photobooths and caricature artists. Those attending must have a UD student ID or sign in.
Programming will continue from 10 p.m., Friday, March 18, to 1 a.m. with the Perkins Live spring finale at the Perkins Student Center. There will be performances by violinist Daniel D, caricature artists and free food, as well as interactive games with the MelUDees a cappella group.
Perkins Student Center will host a daylong Shamrock Fest on Saturday, March 19, with events starting at 11 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m.
Students can enjoy the first weekend of March Madness by wearing green or the colors of their favorite NCAA championship tournament team. The tournament games will be shown on big screens in the West Lounge.
There will be foul shot competitions, stuffed bears, photobooths, a caricaturist, giveaways and good. St. Patrick’s-themed quizzo will be held at noon and 2 p.m.
Shamrock Express shuttle bus service will run from the Laird Campus to Perkins Student Center from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
A Glow Green event will be held Saturday afternoon at the Carpenter Sports Building, or Little Bob. Green glow in the dark body paint will be provided, with blacklight Zumba at 3 p.m. and blacklight dodgeball at 4 p.m.
UD Athletics also will participate, with students invited to Blue Hens baseball games at Bob Hannah Stadium at 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, against Bryant University and at 3 p.m., Friday, March 18, and at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 20, against Fairfield University.
Also, students can attend the women’s tennis match against Temple University at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 20, at the Delaware Field House courts.
