US Figure Skating selects UD to host 2016 Intercollegiate Team Championships
9:13 a.m., July 14, 2015--The University of Delaware has been selected to host the 2016 Intercollegiate Team Championships, it was announced recently by U.S. Figure Skating.
The championships will be held April 9-10, 2016, at the University’s Fred Rust Ice Arena.

The University of Delaware Collegiate Figure Skating Team is one of the top teams in the nation and has won three straight national championships, the most recent in 2015 at the University of California, Berkeley.
A feature on the team was included in Skating magazine.
“The University of Delaware is pleased to have been named the host site for the 2016 championships and we look forward to welcoming the best collegiate figure skaters in the nation to our campus next spring,” said Jim Kaden, assistant director for the University Ice Arenas.
The Fred Rust Ice Arena, located off South College Avenue between the Delaware Field House and Townsend Hall, houses leading-edge figure skating training facilities and the University’s High Performance Figure Skating Center.
Through the years, it has been home to Olympians and world champions including Kimmie Meissner, Tara Lipinski and Tiffany Scott and Philip Dulebohn.
