Multimedia Writing Center announces hours for spring semester
9:01 a.m., Feb. 15, 2016--The University of Delaware Writing Center is open for spring semester beginning Monday, Feb. 15, offering one-on-one and small-group tutoring by appointment and, in its second location, some drop-in hours as well.
The center continues to operate in its longtime location in Memorial Hall, but it opened a second location last fall to provide expanded services and meet student demand. The newer location, known as the Multimedia Writing Center, is located on the lower level of Morris Library.

In addition to scheduled appointments for tutoring, the Multimedia Writing Center will offer drop-in tutoring this semester from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and from 1-5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The Writing Center is operated by the College of Arts and Sciences, but its services at both locations are free and open to anyone across campus who wants help with writing for any class. Services include:
- ¥ Tutors who are graduate or undergraduate students, are successful academic writers and have been trained in tutoring writing.
- ¥ Assistance with writing for any subject or at any level, from freshman English classes to doctoral level science papers.
- ¥ Help with such general issues as choosing a topic, presenting ideas clearly and identifying and correcting errors. The Writing Center does not proofread or “fix” papers but teaches strategies for students to develop their own editing skills.
- ¥ Tutoring in subjects including grammar, punctuation, style and documentation.
