Police seek suspects in Sept. 18 Pomeroy trail robbery
Editor's note: 1:45 p.m., Sept. 23, 2014--Newark Police have announced that Kyle Price was arrested by the Elkton, Maryland, Police Department on Sept. 21.
1:48 p.m., Sept. 19, 2014--The Newark Police Department is seeking two suspects in the strong-arm robbery of a female University of Delaware student that occurred at about 7:40 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, on the Pomeroy Trail near North College Avenue in Newark.
Police said two suspects riding bicycles approached the victim from behind and demanded money. When she said she did not have any money, she was assaulted and knocked to the ground.
The suspects went through her bag, stole a can of pepper spray then fled westbound on the trail.
The victim was not injured and declined medical attention, police said.
Through the course of the investigation, police said they have identified Kyle Price, 20, of Earleville, Maryland, as a suspect and have issued a warrant for his arrest. Authorities in Delaware and Maryland are searching for him.
The second suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s, of a lean build, and wearing jeans and a zippered sweatshirt with a white zipper.
