Health sciences internships
College of Health Sciences offering 2015 international, domestic internships
3:10 p.m., Sept. 30, 2014--The University of Delaware Colleges of Health Sciences (CHS), working in collaboration with the Institute for Global Studies, will offer a variety of health sciences internships for winter and summer sessions in 2015.
CHS is launching international and domestic internship opportunities for students interested in gaining hands-on experience, and working side-by-side with health care professionals.

These affordable programs are designed for students across all health sciences majors interested in medical school and other health professions to test their fields of study and provide valuable work experience.
“Experiential learning is important for all student majors in the College of Health Sciences, most of who are preparing for careers in some field of health care. These global internships will give students the opportunity to engage in experiential learning in line with their career paths, while also being immersed in a different culture,” said Susan Hall, deputy dean of the college.

- India NURS Clinical Internship

- Vietnam HLTH Internship

- India Operation Smile internship. For more information contact Linda Bucher at lbucher@udel.edu. This program is non-credit bearing.
Programs are run either during the first or second summer session. The relatively short programs coupled with available scholarship funds offer students an affordable experience.

About the Institute for Global Studies
The Institute for Global Studies was created in 2009 to enhance the international dimensions of teaching, research and outreach at the University of Delaware. IGS provides leadership and support for programs and experiences that contribute to the education of informed, skilled, open-minded citizens of the world.
Best known for coordinating the University’s study abroad program, IGS also awards scholarships and grants to faculty and students for myriad global opportunities, administers internationally-recognized programs such as the MEPI (Middle East Partnership Initiative) Student Leaders Institute, and sponsors such signature events as International Education Week each fall and country-specific celebrations each spring.
IGS collaborates with other global partners on campus, including the Office for International Students and Scholars, the Confucius Institute and the Center for Global and Area Studies.
