The seniors, who were nominated or self-nominated, were chosen through a highly selective and rigorous process. The nominees had to submit a short video about themselves, obtain 50 signatures to show support for their nomination, and submit a short essay.
A panel of UD staff members reviewed each application. Students were evaluated based on quality and impact to the University by considering their extracurricular activities, cumulative grade point average, poise, presentation, video creativity and overall spirit and embodiment of the UD brand.
Students will have an opportunity to meet the candidates at the UD football games on Oct. 4 and 11, the UD volleyball game against the College of William and Mary at the Carpenter Sports Building on Oct. 10, the daily #UDHC Spirit Stations from Oct. 13-17, and at the Pep Rally on the Oct. 17 in the Carpenter Sports Building.
Also, students can meet the 12 candidates by watching their videos on the students page of the Homecoming website.
Voting for Homecoming king and queen will be open for 24 hours only beginning at 12 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, and ending at 11:59 p.m. Votes can be cast online during that time period only on the Homecoming website.
