International grant writing, travel scholarships focus of Oct. 13 presentation
11:15 a.m., Oct. 8, 2014--The University of Delaware Graduate Student Government (GSG) Diversity Committee is hosting a monthly Brown Bag Lunch Series, a set of monthly informal presentations and discussions, each themed around a particular topic. All graduate students are invited to attend.
On Monday, Oct. 13, from noon-1 p.m., in Room 309 of the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Laboratory (ISE Lab), Dan Bottomley of the University’s Institute for Global Studies will present “International Grant Writing and Travel Scholarship Programs.”

The discussion will include information on where graduate students can find different kinds of grant and scholarship assistance for travel-based research and education.
Graduate students will learn about the process behind applying for these types of grants and scholarships and tips for success.
Specific examples will be highlighted, such as the Fulbright Scholarship Program and the Critical Language Scholarship.
Attendees also will learn more about specialized workshops and interest meetings that UD has to offer for these types of grants and programs.
Students are invited to ask questions, as well as to bring their own lunches.
