UD announces registration being accepted for Youth Cheer Day on Sept. 6

4:09 p.m., July 28, 2014--Registration is now available for Youth Cheer Day, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, during the University of Delaware’s football home opener against Delaware State University.

Available for girls ages 12 and younger, the event will allow participants to learn about the importance of education and fitness while meeting and interacting with the Blue Hen cheerleading teams.

Unsung Hero

The One Love Foundation has announced that University of Delaware men's lacrosse standout Elijah Conte has been selected as a winner of the 2016 YRL Unsung Hero Award.

Participants will learn a short routine to be performed on-field at halftime of the game later that day for all to see in Delaware Stadium.

Girls of all skill levels are welcome, and no prior cheerleading experience is necessary.

Registration costs just $10, and also includes a free event T-shirt, as well as a game ticket. Family and friends may purchase additional tickets at a special discounted rate of just $12 each.

Clinic check-in will take place from 2:30-3 p.m. on Sept. 6, with the pre-game clinic occurring from 3-4 p.m. 

The Blue Hens and Hornets will kick off at 6 p.m., while the on-field performance will occur at halftime.
