UD announces 2014-15 tuition rates
12:28 p.m., July 7, 2014--For the 2014-15 academic year, tuition and mandatory fees at the University of Delaware will increase by 1.9 percent for in-state undergraduates and by 2.54 percent for out-of-state undergraduates. This is the lowest percentage increase in more than 30 years.
Total in-state tuition and mandatory fees for the 2014–15 academic year will increase by $230 to $12,342, compared to $12,112 last year. Mandatory undergraduate fees include the Student Health Service Fee, the Student Center Fee and the Student Comprehensive Fee.

For out-of-state students, total tuition and required fees will increase by $760 to $30,692, compared to last year's $29,932.
With the addition of room and board for undergraduates who choose to live and dine on campus, the total expense in the 2014–15 academic year will be $23,900 for in-state students and $42,250 for out-of-state students. (Campus housing and dining options vary, and the standard housing and dining options, totaling $11,558, are used here.)
Graduate tuition for 2014-15 will be $1,625 per credit hour, an increase of 3 percent or $47 per credit hour, with full-time graduate students seeing a 7 percent reduction in their mandatory fees. In addition, there is a sustaining fee each semester for master’s students ($621) and doctoral students ($938). Overall, more than four out of five graduate students receive financial assistance from UD.
"Providing top quality education that is financially accessible to qualified students and their families is a top priority at the University of Delaware," UD President Patrick Harker said.
In the 2013-14 academic year, UD students received more than $74 million in University, state and private grants and scholarships, more than double the amount from five years ago.
For Delaware families, the Commitment to Delawareans meets full demonstrated financial need and caps student loans at 25 percent of the cost of a four-year degree. This program benefits nearly 2,800 students from Delaware.
UD continues to win recognition as a "best value" institution based on metrics of quality and affordability. Earlier this year, The Princeton Review identified UD as one of 75 "best value" public institutions of higher education, based on academics, cost and financial aid. In addition, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine selected UD as one of 100 “four-year institutions that combine outstanding education with economic value." Kiplinger's cited UD's "high four-year graduation rate, low average student debt at graduation, abundant financial aid, a low sticker price and overall great value."
