Newark Police seek public's help in identifying vehicle owners, operators


7:15 p.m., Aug. 14, 2014--Newark Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two vehicles believed to have been involved in a sexual assault on Thursday, July 24, in the Newark area.

A 23-year-old woman reported a sexual assault that occurred in the early morning hours on that date at an unknown location in Newark.

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

The vehicles were parked in front of Grotto's restaurant on East Main Street from 12:38 to 1:18 a.m., July 24, then left westbound on East Main Street. 

One vehicle appears to be a dark-colored BMW, and the other vehicle is a dark-colored sports utility vehicle. Newark Police have released a surveillance photo of the two vehicles.

The victim, who is not a University of Delaware student, was not physically injured.
