Information about services such as personal training, fitness assessments and health screenings will be also available. The EFC is located in the Carpenter Sports Building and a UD-ID must be used to gain access into the facility.

Also during the week, employee-only fitness classes will be offered at no charge, on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes range from foundational yoga to bootcamp to Zumba.

The free lessons will allow faculty and staff to experience the classes before registering for the sessions.

Other fall fitness programming includes Walktober, an eight-week online walking challenge that runs Sept. 29-Nov. 23. The program includes the option to purchase a Fitbit Zip wireless activity tracker to use with the program.

Faculty and staff may also sign up now for a discounted Wellness Plus package, which includes registration for Walktober, a similar wellness challenge in the spring semester and a Fitbit Zip. To date, over 250 employees have registered for the fall challenge.

Finally, to kick off homecoming weekend, faculty and staff can take part in the inaugural Blue Hens Homecoming 5K on Friday, Oct. 17, at 5:30 p.m.

In the spirit of homecoming, the course will start and finish at the football stadium, winding through the David M. Nelson Athletic Complex and the grounds of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Technical shirts and a post-race party come with the $15 registration fee. To register, go to this website.

Visit the HealthyU Employee Wellness website for additional information and to register for these and other programs.
