UD Police to participate in joint DUI enforcement effort

3:20 p.m., April 30, 2015--The University of Delaware Police Department is participating with the Delaware Office of Highway Safety and the Newark Police Department in a two-week joint DUI enforcement project entitled Project Night Step.

Beginning Saturday, May 2, officers from both Newark and UD will team up to conduct saturation patrols in Newark, targeting impaired drivers.

Project Night Step is designed to remind everyone not to drive while impaired. 

Keep these recommendations in mind:

• Use a designated driver or take advantage of public transportation.

• Don't wait until you are too buzzed to drive to make a plan.

• Don't ever ride with a driver who has been drinking.
