Earlier this year, UD students took home winning honors at the coding challenge, along with teammates from the University of Pennsylvania and Rochester Institute of Technology. They worked for 14 continuous hours to design a mobile app for United Way of Delaware.
The app helped the non-profit provide Delawareans with easy access to information about their services in real-time via smartphone devices.
The next coding challenge will be held over the weekend of Nov. 1-2 and will include:
- Teams of students from a variety of different regional universities who will creatively solve a challenge faced by a local nonprofit organization;
- Advisement from JPMorgan Chase technologists throughout the course of the event; and
- A panel of judges, including senior technology leaders and representatives from the participating nonprofits, who will judge the teams.
Interested students who would like the opportunity to put their coding skills to use for a good cause should visit the Code for Good webpage for more information and to apply.
