Deputy city manager to meet with international faculty, staff


12:22 p.m., Sept. 30, 2013--Repeating his well-received presentation at the University of Delaware last spring, Andrew S. Haines, Newark’s deputy city manager, will visit the campus on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., for the first of several brown bag lunches hosted by the International Caucus and the Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS). 

This event is also presented in collaboration with the Asian American and Pacific Islander Caucus.

Fulbright awards

Three University of Delaware students and an alumna have received word this spring that they will travel abroad as part of the newest class of Fulbright Student Program award winners.

Peace Corps plans

Two University of Delaware students, John McCarron and Bridgette Spritz, have been selected as Peace Corps volunteers and will serve in Ghana and Rwanda.

Haines will talk about Newark fall and winter events, providing an update on city planning and suggesting ways international faculty and staff can become involved in the greater Newark community.

The event will be held at the Trabant University Center in Rooms 209/211. A light buffet will be served.
