June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

"Perspectives" is a series of informal afternoon discussions led by curators and invited faculty about the objects, exhibitions and ideas on display in the University Museums galleries.

Scheduled at lunchtime, these varied, short and informal talks offer an introduction to each exhibition as well as time for discussion.

Curated by Janis A. Tomlinson, University Museums director, the exhibition “Goya’s War: Los Desastres de la Guerra” is an extended meditation on the tragedy of war in its many aspects created by Francisco Goya y Lucientes, with its 80 etchings depicting scenes of war, famine and political commentary.

The exhibition is a collaboration of the University Museums and the Pomona College Museum of Art. It is circulated by the Pomona College Museum of Art.
