A Streetcar Named Desire, a Pulitzer Prize winner, is Williams’ classic story that reveals the depths of Blanche DuBois, a woman whose life has been undermined by her romantic illusions, which lead her to reject the realities of life for which she consistently ignore.

The pressure brought upon her by her sister, Stella, with whom she goes to live, is intensified by the earthy and "normal" young husband of the latter, which leads to a revelation of her tragic self-delusion, and, in the end, to heartbreaking pandemonium.

E-52 was founded in 1923 and produces three full productions per semester, all of which are executed, designed and performed by UD students.
